Our goal is to make our midways as friendly as possible. At regular intervals around the midway we have brightly colored and lighted kiosk with benches to offer our customers a place to sit and rest.  In addition, a food pavilion furnished with picnic tables is erected adjacent to the food consessions.  Our ground cables and hoses are covered with mats to ease one's stroll around the midway.  Our midways provide numerous garbage cans with plastic liners and topped with cartoon character heads.  Trash receptacles are emptied nightly and the entire carnival grounds are cleaned using brooms and racks.

Skerbeck Carnival's midways also have 40-foot light towers with 12,000 watts of illumination to light the dark corners of the grounds.  In addition, all rides are washed prior to opening, and as part of the set-up process.  During peak periods, moveable fencing is used to create que lines for the most popular rides in order to avoid bottlenecks, and to allow for the smooth flow of traffic on the midway.

Although these assets and procedures provide no direct revenue, it is part of our policy to make quality part of the process of fun. We have found that people who are in a friendly, non-threatening environment spend more money, return more often and spread invaluable "word of mouth" endorsements for our midway and for the fairs and festivals that we play.
