Equipment Inspections
In-house ride inspections occur every day prior to opening by two different licensed inspectors. In addition, third-party consultants inspect and perform non-destructive testing of equipment on an annual basis. Skerbeck Carnival is also inspected and licensed to operate in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Each of these states has mandated safety inspection codes per state legislation. Please check our safety record. We're proud of it!
Equipment Maintenance
Skerbeck Carnival believes that a robust preventative maintenance schedule for rides is an important component to safe equipment operation. In keeping with this, we exceed manufacturers’ scheduled maintenance procedures to ensure any required maintenance can be quickly and efficiently completed. Skerbeck Carnival utilizes its 90-foot tall, heated winter maintenance facility to assist in the preventative maintenance process. In addition, Skerbeck Carnival invest in new equipment annually to up with the latest in new technologies.
Employee Training
Employee training is mandatory in the following areas: ride operation, preventative maintenance, behavior and dress requirements, and customer relations. When new rides are purchased, a manufacturer representative trains Skerbeck employees in the proper operation of the equipment. Additionally, show managers attend special national safety seminars to keep abreast of current topics and emerging regulations.
Customer Education
Skerbeck Carnival utilizes informational signs at each ride to communicate height and weight requirement, and instructions on how to have a safe ride. The signs are professional prepared and are designed to increase customer awareness of how to have a safe ride.
