Skerbeck Carnival Announces Quality Award

Escanaba, MI –Skerbeck Brothers Shows, Inc., based in Escanaba, Michigan is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of the Outdoor Amusement Business Association (OABA) Circle of Excellence. The Circle of Excellence award is a prestigious honor which is the result of an industry quality assessment audit and recognizes the achievement of highest possible quality for a traveling carnival company in North America. The Circle of Excellence audit evaluates 43 different aspects of carnival operations, including equipment safety, cleanliness, and appearance.

According to Sonja Skerbeck, Marketing Director for the company, “We are extremely proud of our company’s performance. It reflects highly on the quality of our equipment and our workforce.”

There are several hundred traveling carnival companies in North America, and Skerbeck Brothers Shows is one of less than 20 to achieve this accomplishment nation-wide, and the only carnival company in the State of Michigan to currently have the award. The quality audit was performed by a third-party independent auditor in June. The company was notified that it scored a 93% successful score on the audit a few weeks later.

In 2012, the carnival will operate its midway at 51 events in Michigan and 3 events in Indiana. Skerbeck Brothers Shows operates seasonally, from mid-April through early October every year. The company has been a provider of quality American entertainment for more than 150 years.
